This month’s Browns & Brews is an exciting presentation on fishing our local waters. Requested by many of the SVTU members this presentation includes two experienced guides and members of our local SVTU chapter, Dick Shinton, and Matt Decker. So sit back, and have a brew as Dick and Matt guide us through the local waters of the Front Range.

Featured Speaker: Dick Shinton
Topic: Fishing Local Waters
Dick Shinton is a guide for the Laughing Grizzly Fly Shop in Longmont, where he also lives. Dick has been fly fishing and fly tying since the late 70s. His favorite places to fish and guide are in Rocky Mountain National Park-- especially the Big Thompson, Glacier Creek and the North St Vrain. The chance at the wily greenback trout is a favorite pursuit whether he's guiding or fishing for himself. The Frying Pan is Dick's favorite non-RMNP fishery. Dick will often tell people that while he may come home physically tired, he's mentally refreshed after a day of fishing.

Featured Speaker: Matt Decker
Topic: Fishing Local Waters
Matt Decker is a full time fishing guide on Colorado's front range. He moved to Colorado in 2011 and has been exploring the fisheries of this state ever since. On any given day you can likely find him on a local stream fishing, finding fish and setting up shots for his clients, or out on his old drift boat rowing with his best friend, a black lab named Drake. Matt has an infectious passion for fly fishing for trout, but also likes to target bass, carp, and red fish. Matt's favorite part about fly fishing are the beautiful places it takes him. The list so far includes Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Michigan, Florida, Louisiana, and Belize.
